Heavyweight super prospect, British gold medalist Anthony Joshua, is set to face the biggest name opponent of his career yet, Matt Skelton. Joshua is of course a huge favorite in the fight and likely won’t have any sorts of issues against Skelton, the omnipresent British journeyman/stepping stone.
Still, as he gets set for the fight, he took some time to talk about the fight, how his career has been going thus far, and what his plans are for the immediate future.
It shouldn’t be long before Joshua breaks out a bit further and begins tangling with legitimate opposition. He will be one of the major players to watch in the coming years. With any luck, Joshua will join the likes of Deontay Wilder, Bermane Stiverne, and the winner of the Tyson Fury-Dereck Chisora rematch as a legitimate top tier of fighters at the top of the division.
The end of the Klitschko era will be coming sooner than later, and Joshua very well may be the guy to lead the division into the next generation. We’ll have to wait and see for that though!
In the meantime, enjoy watching this video interview with Joshua and stay tuned for more updates on his next fight.
