All boxing fans know the story of what happened to Paul Williams earlier this year, paralyzed from a motorcycle accident after having just signed on to face Canelo Alvarez, in a fight which would have taken place this September. In this special video interview conducted by Jim Gray of Showtime, Paul Williams discusses the accident, the injury, his life and his future. His upbeat and positive perspective is truly amazing. Be sure to check out this video of the interview which first aired on Showtime’s Canelo vs. Lopez telecast.
This was the first look that most people had at Williams since the accident. The doctors are holding out hope for the fact that he will one day be able to walk again. Williams is taking it a step further – if he can get it done in the next two years, and he believes that of course he will walk again, then he would even consider coming back for a fight to give back to the fans.
He says that if he was feeling bad about himself, or depressed, than he would have two problems, in addition to the injury itself. So why bother? He’s just living his life anyway, and is just as outgoing and positive as he always was. It’s a pretty special outlook, and it’s inspiring to see him discuss it.
So sit down for a quick few minutes and enjoy this video interview with Paul Williams.
