Banks vs. Mitchell Rematch Preview
On February 16 in Atlantic City, an intriguing rematch will be held between Johnathon Banks and Seth Mitchell. Banks famously kayoed Mitchell in 2012, fresh off the loss of trainer and mentor Emanuel Steward. Take a look back at Mitchell vs. Banks and see the knockout all over again with this video from HBO Boxing.
HBO had been building up Seth Mitchell quite a bit. And particularly given the circumstances involved with Steward, Banks wasn’t expected to be a challenge – he had been serving as Wladimir Klitschko’s trainer in the weeks before this fight took place. However, he wasn’t overwhelmed with the situation, he rose to the occasion, and used Steward for inspiration as he kayoed Mitchell in the early rounds.
