ESPN’s Friday Night Fights will begin its 15th anniversary season Friday at 10 p.m. on ESPN2 HD, ESPN Deportes, and WatchESPN, featuring undefeated Jr. Lightweights Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy (17-0, 11 KOs) vs. Arash Usmanee (20-0, 10 KOs). Check out a video preview of the 15th season of Friday Night Fights debut.
Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas will be ringside at Miami’s Magic City Casino for ESPN2 HD, with new studio host Todd Grisham presenting all the latest news. ESPN Deportes’ Alex Pombo and Delvin Rodriguez will describe the action with Leopoldo Gonzalez and Pablo Viruega in the studio. Former Friday Night Fights host Bernardo Osuna debuts as on-site, bi-lingual reporter for both shows.
Friday’s show will profile Usmanee, reviewing his migration from Afghanistan to Canada following the then-Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan.
ESPN definitely has a solid lineup here for their big 2013 debut, marking the 15th season of the show. Barthelemy vs. Usmanee is a high quality bout of unbeatens, and the co-feature is another solid match as well, so be sure to tune in on Friday night as the year’s boxing calendar officially gets underway.
