This Saturday night, September 29th, HBO Boxing After Dark is back with a special card from Foxwoods. Headlining the event is a super middleweight match between undefeated prospects, with Edwin Rodriguez, nearing a title shot, meeting prospect Jason Escalera. In the co-feature, Vic Darchinyan is back to take on another young gun, as he meets the undefeated Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle. This was actually originally a tripleheader, and the third fight would have pitted Zsolt Erdei against Isaac Chilemba, but Erdei was injured and that fight got pulled. So now we have Rodriguez-Escalera, and Darchinyan-Del Valle.
Even though the main event features two undefeated fighters, I think the co-feature is the more intriguing fight, as we’ll see what Del Valle has at the top level, and whether or not Darchinyan can turn back the clock yet again.
