Following a tough loss to Andrzej Fonfara, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. looks to bounce back against Marcos Reyes in the main event of a Showtime Championship Boxing card on July 18th.
Chavez Jr. clearly bit off more than he could chew in Fonfara. It’s something that his team, including his father, seemed to know heading into the fight. Fonfara is a natural light heavyweight and a tough customer coming off some very good performances.
Chavez was coming up in weight, and off of long layoffs and poor showings. It was a bad combination, and Fonfara controlled the fight. Now, Chavez is looking to get right back into action and he’s set up against an opponent who should help him look good.
Also on the card, undefeated bantamweights McJoe Arroyo and Arthur Villanueva face off for the IBF Bantamweight title in the co-main event. See all the action Saturday, July 18th at 10p ET on Showtime.
