Lerrone Richards says Carlos Gongora poses a dangerous threat, but promises to show his skillset when they clash on December 18.
Richards (15-0, 3 KOs) challenges undefeated, IBO super middleweight champion, Gongora (20-0, 15 KOs) at the AO Arena in Manchester on the undercard of stablemate Derek Chisora’s rematch against Joseph Parker, live on DAZN.
Gongora handed Ali Akhmedov a first defeat to win the vacant title and has since defended with a stoppage win over Christopher Pearson and ‘Sniper the Boss’ admits he is well aware of the task ahead of him against the Ecuadorian champion.
“I’ve got a big fight coming up,” Richards told proboxing-fans.com.
“A big step up for me and I can’t wait to showcase my skills once again.
“I’ve seen a few of his fights, so I watch everything, I watch every show that I can watch.
“So, I’ve seen a bit of him and he’s a good boxer, a big puncher, a dangerous operator and I can’t wait, I can’t wait for this fight, I really can’t.
“I believe that skills pay the bills all the time, so you know what I bring to the table and you’re going to see a Lerrone Richards with a little bit more spice than you what you saw the last time.”

Richards, a former British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion, put in a dominant display to claim the vacant European title by unanimous decision over Giovanni De Carolis in May.

Despite securing an almost shutout on the judges’ scorecards, the 29-year-old, who is ranked at #10 by the WBO behind undisputed champion, Canelo Alvarez says there is still room for improvement.
“I know what I can do, I know what I can bring to the table,” Richards added.
“If anything it wasn’t a great, great performance for me, it wasn’t the best for me.
“But, I’m glad I entertained everyone, it showed everyone what I can bring to the table, just a little bit.
“There’s always room for improvement and I’m never going to stand here and say I’m a perfect fighter.

“It’s about progression, it’s all about learning and you should see a better performance from me in my next fight.”
