Why is this fight unique? Well just consider its time and location. HBO is heading back to Russia for the first time in years, but also, the fight is taking place on a Monday. That’s right, it’s Monday, July 11th.
That also follows another unique bout, the Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko rematch, which takes place that Saturday and will be shown live in the afternoon in the U.S.
So that’s a weekend with a live Saturday afternoon heavyweight championship fight from England, followed by a Monday night showing of a light heavyweight championship fight from Russia. Interesting, indeed.
