On April 9th, Showtime Boxing offers a special international presentation by way of the UK. British Olympic champion Anthony Joshua, who has thus far been an unbeaten wrecking ball in his pro career, challenges Charles Martin for his IBF heavyweight strap.
While Martin is the titleholder, he won the strap in a vacant contest by way of default – injury non-related to anything he inflicted – and is facing the much more ballyhooed Joshua. The fight is on Joshua’s turf in the UK, and he should be heavily favored to win the fight.
For U.S. fight fans, the Martin vs. Joshua heavyweight championship fight offers an excellent chance to see Joshua in action. It’s also hopefully a prelude to future super fights, such as one we forecasted a very long time ago – Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua.
Be sure not to miss outon Saturday, April 9th. The Joshua vs. Martin telecast on Showtime in the U.S. will be televised live that day at 5pm Eastern, and 2pm Pacific.
