Timothy Bradley returns to the ring when he meets unbeaten Jessie Vargas. For Vargas, it’s not only a jump up in weight, it’s a huge step up in class. For as much as Bradley has been derided by some over the past few years, there aren’t many boxers out there who have been in with as many high quality opponents as he has been, and he’s typically been successful.
He defeated Devon Alexander when they were both undefeated and the top two guys at 140 lbs. Obviously he received some very controversial scoring against Manny Pacquiao that gave him a victory he didn’t deserve, but he didn’t acquit himself badly in that fight, or the rematch.
He also holds a close win over Pacquiao rival Juan Manuel Marquez. Bradley has been in there with many of the best fighters and biggest names, and it’s not usually a good idea to bet against him.
