Golovkin puts his Middleweight titles on the line against the IBF Welterweight titlist at The O2 in London on September 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and on HBO, here in the U.S.
Brook traveled to the States this morning along with trainer Dominic Ingle and promoter Eddie Hearn, and will address the media in Manhattan. A date for the UK leg of the press tour has yet to be confirmed but will be announced at the earliest opportunity.
Fight fans certainly aren’t too thrilled with the announcement of this bout, continuing in the trend of the world’s top middleweights, Golovkin himself and theoretically Canelo Alvarez, fighting smaller fighters, including welterweights, who should be a two full divisions beneath them. Meanwhile, we’re waiting and waiting for a potential Golovkin vs. Canelo clash which continues to be avoided.
