Harold Lederman is back with the latest editions of his Hey Harold video series, in which he talks about some of the sport’s latest fights, and biggest fights. Here, he talks about some of the biggest fights upcoming this month on HBO Boxing, Manny Pacquiao vs. Chris Algieri, as well as Bernard Hopkins vs. Sergey Kovalev. Take a look.

Speaking first on Pacquiao, Lederman talks about his combination punching, and that he has power in both hands. He talks about how most southpaws don’t have great right hands, but Pacquiao does, and he is great at ring generalship. Lederman believes Pacquiao will dictate the fight and where it happens, and will be able to do that effectively to control the action.

On Algieri, he believes he’s a very interesting fighter. He’s unbeaten, he comes from a kick-boxing background, he’s never fought out of New York, but his fight against Provodnikov was an incredible performance. Lederman believes he’ll try to use that same movement, and an attack behind a hard jab, and try to pile up points. He’s a huge underdog, but he’s been in that position before.

As for Hopkins vs. Kovalev, Lederman believes that this could be one of the most popular Hopkins fights in his long and storied career. Because everyone wants to see if, at 49, he can go up against and defeat the wrecking ball that is Krusher. Hopkins is working hard as always, and he’s a true master. Lederman believes Hopkins could keep him off balance, but if Kovalev could get off first with his right hand, he could do real damage.

The potential for this fight to go either way has Lederman very intrigued on this bout. Lederman even believes it’s possible that Hopkins could knock out Kovalev depending on circumstances.
