Al Bernstein is back with his latest keys to victory, and here he is analyzing the Keith Thurman vs. Shawn Porter showdown, set to finally take a place this weekend. Take a look to see what he thinks both men need to do in order to emerge victorious.
Bernstein says that Thurman needs to stay on his feet to keep away from the ropes. But he’ll need to throw with authority, and Porter will leave open room to counter if Thurman is ready to capitalize. He expects the uppercut from Thurman to play a role.
As for Porter, he notes his unique come ahead style and aggression as key. But he needs to stay intelligent with that, and use angles and head movement, and look to get Thurman on the ropes. He should work behind the jab, and land hard, stiff jabs as well.
