IBF Super – Featherweight Champion Gervonta Davis will make his first defence of his title against undefeated Liam Walsh at London’s Copper Box Arena on Saturday 20th May 2017, live on BT Sport and Boxnation.
‘The Tank’, who is signed to Mayweather Promotions, will make his first title defence on foreign soil and is relishing the chance to fight in the UK.
“I always wanted to come to the UK and fight,” said Davis. “Many of my fans are based there, so I’m just excited that they will be able to come see me fight in their own backyard.”
The Baltimore born Champion is only 22 and announced himself on the boxing scene when he stopped former champion Jose Pedraza in the 7th round in January to win the IBF Super – Featherweight Championship, taking him to 17-0.
Davis is prepared and knows his opponent will be a tough contender for the title.
“Liam Walsh is a tough contender, and I’m hoping he brings it. I will be well prepared for whatever he does, and believe me when I say that I will put on a great show.”

Southpaw Liam Walsh defeated Andrey Klimov in October to become the no.1 contender and the Brit cant be underestimated as hs record shows 21-0.Walsh is focused and ready for Davis.
