Frank Warren has opened the door to a potential showdown between Joe Joyce and Deontay Wilder.

Both Joyce and Wilder had a winless 2023, with the former losing twice to Zhilei Zhang, whilst ‘The Bronze Bomber’ suffered a third professional defeat in a comprehensive points loss to Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia in December.

Warren, who is promoting Zhang vs Parker this Friday in Riyadh on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s clash with Francis Ngannou, believes Wilder and Parker could be the fight to make.

“Joe Joyce wants to get back in the picture,” Warren told Seconds Out.

“Maybe Joe Joyce against Wilder.

“It would be an interesting fight.

“Both guys at the moment are out there on the fringes of it now because of their respective losses.

“Can one of them get in the swing again? I don’t know.

“So, there’s a lot of good things happening.”

Joyce looks to bounce back from his back-to-back defeats to Zhang when he faces Kash Ali on March 16 in Birmingham.

Wilder, who lost out on an already signed showdown with Joshua after defeat to Parker, hinted in the immediate aftermath that he may consider retirement, but has since vowed to continue, but is yet to announce a return date.

“I don’t know what happened, to be honest,” the 38-year-old said on Instagram shortly after the bout.

“My timing was off, and I didn’t throw my punches, I didn’t let my hands go like I was supposed to.

“Sometimes you get like that. But you live to see another fight. You live to see another moment.

“I’m still full of happiness, still full of joy, still full of smiles.

“Sorry if I let anyone down but we will be back though! That’s the thing about it.

“I thank you so much for the love and support I’ve got out here in Riyadh and from all my fans around the world.

“I appreciate you so much.

“This is not the end, and I will be back.”
