The official Manny Pacquiao vs. Chris Algieri weigh-ins are being held today, Friday, November 21st, live from the Venetian Macau. The weigh-ins are slated to begin at 7 pm eastern, and right here, you can watch all the action with our live video stream. Grab a seat and check it out.
The Pacquiao vs. Algieri fight is being contested in the welterweight division, for Pacquiao’s title strap there. However, there is a contracted catch-weight of 144 lbs.
Algieri has been predominately a junior welterweight fighter, so he’s coming up in weight. Of course, Pacquiao is small for welterweight, so neither man should have any issues on the scales. Expect them both to look jacked and cut without too much actual weight cutting going on or needing to happen at the last minute.
The more interesting component than the official Pacquiao vs. Algieri weights will be seeing them square off once again as we did during the press conferences, and seeing that huge height advantage for Algieri.
Will that influence any last-minute fans to place a bet on the fight, or to go ahead and decide to make a purchase? Who knows, but we can be pretty confident there won’t be anything else too unusual, or any pushing or brawling going on between these guys and their camps, so that’s the type of intrigue that will have to do.
