This weekend Manny Pacquiao put on another dominating display of his boxing ability, further cementing his status as the best pound for pound fighter in the sport, and a tried and true welterweight champion. Joshua Clottey simply did not get enough offense together, or even appear to try to, in order to win rounds and make an impact. Of course, it was another solid evening and solid win for Pacquiao, even if Clottey was a less than inspiring opponent. It’s certainly enough to retain his status as the number 1 welterweight in the world. But in the rest of the division, there are a lot of questions circling around. The good news is there are some big fights – particularly Mosley vs. Mayweather – lurking in the future to help figure things out a bit more. The hope is that it sets up the huge Pacquiao vs. Mayweather squabble that everybody wanted to see to begin with.
How far did Joshua Clottey drop? Where is Miguel Cotto? What about Shane Mosley and Floyd Mayweather, who of course meet in the ring in just two short months?
