Dillian Whyte is ready to take on Joseph Parker and take his WBO Heavyweight title if able to negotiate a fight with the New Zealander.
Whyte, 29, made a challenge to WBC title champion, Deontay Wilder, after Wilder’s opponent, Luiz Ortiz, failed a drugs test. But the Brixton man is also adamant on facing Parker, with Matchroom Boxing promoter, Eddie Hearn, reportedly flying out to New Zealand to begin negotiations.
If the fight were to happen, Whyte is more than confident of coming out victorious, claiming he would win with a ‘crushing knockout’.
Whilst speaking to Sky Sports, Whyte said, “Joseph Parker knows I won’t be running from him, staying on the back foot and boxing him.”
“I will stand in the middle of the ring with him and trade, and he will get knocked out. He won’t have to come looking for me. It won’t be a tricky fight and I won’t be moving around and jabbing, no. I’ll stand in the ring with him, have a fight, and I’ll put him to sleep. Simple as that.”
Another boxer who could possible take on Whyte, is American Jarrell Miller, as the two have taken to social media to trade insults.
“I already said I wanted to fight him, just after he fought Gerald Washington,” said Whyte.
“In America, Jarrell Miller cannot sell out an arena. He’s a Brooklyn guy, but he cannot sell out a Brooklyn arena.
“If he wants to make money and have a good fight, then he should come to fight me at The O2. That’s my home city and I will draw a crowd to The O2.”
