Deontay Wilder has warned Anthony Joshua he will take out years of “anger” on him when they do eventually clash.
Wilder and Joshua are on course to finally meet in Saudi Arabia next year, providing both men win their upcoming bouts against Joseph Parker and Otto Wallin respectively on Saturday in Riyadh, live on TNT Sports Box Office and DAZN pay-per-view.
The pair have been linked to a showdown since 2016 when both held world titles, but a fight has never materialised.
‘The Bronze Bomber’ insists seven years of waiting to fight his British rival will be evident when the meet in the ring.
“It’s been over six years,” the 38-year-old told DAZN.
“It was supposed to have been done a long time ago.
“I could say so many different things of why it hasn’t happened, but I’ve been talking about that for so long.
“Everybody knows why it hasn’t happened, I don’t think they need to hear me to know that.
“But that’s not here nor there. It’s a different time in place and I’m looking forward to the future.
“The future is bright. We can talk about the past all day long, but for what? I’m not going to waste your time.
“When the future comes, the memories of what I had to endure or what I had to go through, it will show on the night of that fight.
“All my frustrations and my anger and everything that I’ve been wanting to show, especially giving the people the right fights at the right time.”
Wilder and Joshua shared a press conference table for the first time last month and reportedly have a deal in place to meet on March 9, according to ESPN if both come through successfully and unscathed on Saturday.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn denied that March 9 is locked in and Wilder, who fights for the first time since knocking out Robert Helenius last October, when he faces Parker appeared to blame Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing as the main reason for the fight failing to come to fruition in the past.

“That’s what boxing lacks, it lacks timing. Sometimes it’s the fighter, most of the time it’s the managers and the promoters,” he added.
“Especially when they see they got someone who’s running their business and if I lose the money maker in the business, then the business goes down.
“If the business goes down we have no more money coming in, so that holds fights back.
“But the future is amazing and those that have been waiting patiently, like I have should get what they want soon.”
