World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his titles against Tyson Fury on November 28 at ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf. Tickets from the originally scheduled bout, which had been set for October 24th, will keep their validity.
Originally scheduled on October 24th the fight has been postponed due to an injury of Wladimir Klitschko. After a comprehensive medical examination the champion has been given a green light today for the fight to proceed at the end of November.
“My injury will heal quickly enough for me to enter the ring on November 28. I will promptly continue my training camp preparations and, of course, I am very happy to still be fighting this year, especially for my fans who have already bought their tickets,” said Wladimir Klitschko.
Klitschko had injured his calf during training, and that pushed the fight back by just a bit over a month. Often times, calf injuries can become nagging and linger longer than expected, so it will be interesting if we hear any further rumblings about the injury as Klitschko resumes his training schedule. In the meantime, it’s good news for boxing fans to have Klitschko vs. Fury back on the calendar officially, as it promises an intriguing and hopefully entertaining challenge for the heavyweight champ.
