Russian Boxing Team and British Lionhearts aim to continue success in Moscow

Both Russian Boxing Team and British Lionhearts have begun Season V of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) with success, with the Russian Franchise currently sitting in fourth place in Group A, while the Lionhearts are third having lost both their away matches so far.

Considering Russia have competed in a match less than the British team due to a first week postponement, this is a key match for both Franchises to assert themselves in the group, and to keep pace with Cuba Domadores and Ukraine Otamans.

The Russian team have a brand new line up replacing the five fighters who all lost in these weight classes against Cuba Domadores two weeks ago, while the British Lionhearts have also had to make changes due to injuries and form.

The Sports Palace “Wings Of The Soviets”, Moscow is the venue for this eagerly anticipated clash, and on Thursday 12th January, fans across the world can watch the action free, live and on demand from 20:00 (GMT +3) at AIBABoxingTV.com.

A Light flyweight (49 kg) bout opens the action, with Russia’s Vasiliy Egorov, who won a number of international tournaments last year, making his first appearance of the season against the 0-2 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Ashley Williams.

Russia’s 2013 AIBA World Championships silver medalist Vladimir Nikitin is in action next at Bantamweight (56 kg) where he faces Dutch Lionhearts representative Enrico La Cruz.

Light welterweight (64 kg) Vitaliy Dunaytsev makes his first appearance of the season for Russia, and the experienced boxer faces a tough opening clash against Sam Maxwell, who has won both of his matches so far in this campaign for British Lionhearts.

Petr Khamukov has plenty of his WSB experience for Russia, and he will look to make that count at Middleweight (75 kg) when he fights young British fighter Daniel Woledge who has big shoes to fill as he replaces the 2-0 Anthony Fowler who bravely fought through his first two matches with a severe cut.

The last bout of the night is at Heavyweight (91 kg) where Russia’s 2013 AIBA World Championships silver medalist Evgeny Tishchenko, one of the most exciting Heavyweight prospects in the world makes his first appearance of Season V against French fighter Abdoulaye Diane who has prior WSB experience with Algeria Desert Hawks.

Rafako Hussars Poland and Italia Thunder hunt for their second win of the season in Konin

Both Rafako Hussars Poland and Italia Thunder have only won a solitary match out of four so far in Season V of the World Series of Boxing (WSB), which makes this a key match for either Franchise to escape from the mid-table of Group B.

However, the last time the Polish team competed in these five weight classes they won 5-0 against Argentina Condors, while Italia Thunder also have confidence in these categories after they also whitewashed Puerto Rico Hurricanes two weeks ago.

Therefore, both teams will be full of confidence despite relatively poor starts to the season, and plenty of exciting boxing is expected.

Hala Mosir, Konin is the venue for this match, and on Friday 13th February, fans across the world can watch the action free, live and on demand from 20:00 (GMT +1) at AIBABoxingTV.com.

Up first are the Light flyweights (49 kg) and Poland’s Dawid Sebastian Jagodzinski is looking for his second win a row against the 2-0 Irish star and two-time Olympic bronze medalist Patrick Barnes who has looked excellent this season.

Sylwester Kozlowski picked up a walkover victory in his last Bantamweight (56 kg) match, and will look forward to getting into the ring with Ireland’s 1-1 Michael Conlan who stopped Garibaldy Gomez in his last WSB appearance.

At Light welterweight (64 kg) the 1-1 Damian Kiwior competes against the Italian with an identical record, Vincenzo Mangiacapre.

Polish Middleweight (75 kg) Tomasz Jablonski has impressed for Poland in Season V having won his opening two matches, and he puts his undefeated record on the line when he fights Italy’s 1-1 Salvatore Cavallaro.

In the last match, Polish Heavyweight (91 kg) Igor Pawel Jakubowski is hunting for his third stoppage win of the season against Endri Spahiu who won his lone match of the campaign via walkover.

Can China Dragons win their first WSB match against Morocco Atlas Lions?

After two exceptional World Series of Boxing (WSB) victories in succession against British Lionhearts and Ukraine Otamans, Morocco Atlas Lions are the form team coming into this Group A match against the winless China Dragons.

Both of these Franchises were new additions to Season V, but so far it is the African team who have impressed more, with China having lost 75% of their bouts across four matches.

The last time they competed at home, the Dragons narrowly lost to Ukraine Otamans, while the Atlas Lions beat the same Ukrainian Franchise away last week, so they will hold no fear of traveling again.

Mangrovetree Convention Center, Sanya hosts the action in this WSB match, and on Friday 13th February, fans across the world can watch the action free, live and on demand from 20:00 (GMT +8) at AIBABoxingTV.com.

2014 China Open Tournament silver medalist He Junjun is 1-0 this season after winning the very first match of Season V, and the Chinese Light flyweight (49 kg) looks for his second victory of the campaign against Morocco’s 1-1 National Champion Zouhair El Bekkali.

At Bantamweight (56 kg), 1-1 Diao Jianhao had a night to remember two weeks ago with an amazing performance against Ukraine’s Mykola Butsenko, and will take much confidence into his match against 1-1 Mohamed VI Trophy winner Mohamed Hamout who also won his last bout in WSB.

Next up are the Light welterweights (64 kg) and China’s Jun Yang makes his first appearance of the season when he faces Morocco’s 0-2 Hamza El Barbari.

2014 Asian Games quarter-finalist Zhou Di is an exciting Middleweight (75 kg) and he competes against Said Harnouf in a battle of boxers who have already lost to Britain’s Anthony Fowler this season.

The last fight of the evening is at Heavyweight (91 kg) where China’s Jin Guo opens his WSB account with a fight against 1-0 Vitalijus Subacius.

Ukraine Otamans will face African opposition for the second week in a row as they take on Algeria Desert Hawks in Blida

Algeria Desert Hawks have had a troubled start to Season V of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) after their opening round fixture was postponed followed by three losses from three matches.

Ukraine Otamans won their first three matches in Group A, but were surprisingly beaten last week by Morocco Atlas Lions.

Therefore, this is an important clash in the group – can Algeria pick up their first win of the campaign, or will Ukraine return to the dominant form they showed prior to their loss at home to African opposition?

Chalane Hocine, Blida is the venue for this match, and on Friday 13th February, fans across the world can watch the action free, live and on demand from 17:00 (GMT -1) at AIBABoxingTV.com.

The action begins at Light flyweight (49 kg), where home favourite Belkacem Khennoussi makes his first appearance of the season against Uzbekistan’s Hasanboy Dusmatov who has won both of his matches so far for Ukraine Otamans in this campaign.

Bantamweight (56 kg) Fahem Hammachi won the silver medal late last year in the World Military Championships, and will aim to take that good form into his match against Ukraine’s 1-1 Mykola Butsenko.

At Light welterweight (64 kg), Algeria’s Mohamed Boudiaf lost against Raúl Curiel García in his last contest, and will be eager to make amends when he fights Ukraine’s young Klitschko Brothers Youth Tournament winner Viktor Petrov.

The penultimate fight sees Algerian Middleweight (75 kg) and WSB veteran Ilyas Abbadi in action against Taras Holovashchenko.

An evening of much anticipated action closes at Heavyweight (91 kg) Bouziane Houna puts his 1-0 record on the line when he takes on the 2-0 2006 European Champion Denys Poyatsyka.
