An unlikely rematch headlines a card in Cancun, Mexico this Saturday, as William Zepeda and Tevin Farmer meet again on a Golden Boy-promoted card with the Mexican defending his interim WBC lightweight title.
DAZN televise the Zepeda vs Farmer 2 bill.
Zepeda (32-0, 27 KOs) had made serene progress before facing Farmer in Riyadh last November, scoring wins over Jojo Diaz (UD12), Mercito Gesta (KO6) and Maxi Hughes (RTD4) and the American wasn’t expected to give him many issues when they clashed in Saudi Arabia.
Farmer (33-7-1, 8 KOs) had previously served as IBF champion at super featherweight, making four defences before being outscored by the aforementioned Diaz in January 2020.
Three comeback wins followed, but he would then be defeated on points by Raymond Muratalla last July, and a clash with Zepeda was seen as a good name to be put on the Mexican’s ledger.
It didn’t transpire the way many expected, with Farmer flooring Zepeda in round four, but then losing a split decision by just a point on two cards.

Prediction: Zepeda will have learned his lessons from the original meeting, and will also have heavy home advantage. He can take the win in their sequel via clear decision.
Collazo defends against Hernandez
The undercard sees Oscar Collazo (11-0, 8 KOs) make the fourth defence of his WBO minimumweight title, as he takes on home fighter Edwin Cano Hernandez (13-2-1, 4 KOs).

Collazo took the belt in May 2023 with a seventh round retirement of Mevin Jerusalem, and has seen off multiple challengers, the last a seventh round stoppage of the unbeaten Thammanoon Niyomtrong last November.
Hernandez has never been past eight rounds, but is coming off a fourth round knockout of Michael Carmona in his last bout last July.
Prediction: Collazo is a slick operator, and I favour him to retain via late stoppage.
Oscar Collazo made history by becoming the first strawweight to win the Ring Magazine title, as he stopped Knockout CP Freshmart in Riyadh back in November.

In ten rounders, Yokasta Valle (32-3, 10 KOs) moves up to flyweight after a long spell as unified minimumweight world champion, and after regaining the WBC title in her last fight, she steps up in weight, and can win on points against former unified flyweight world champion Marlen Esparza (15-2, 1 KO), who widely outscored Arely Mucino in her last assignment.
At featherweight, Gregory Morales (17-1, 9 KOs) should triumph on points against Jonathan Rojas Jardines (11-4-1, 3 KOs), and at flyweight, Joselito Velazquez (20-1-1, 13 KOs) can do the same in his meeting with Adolfo Castillo Gonzalez (12-4-2, 7 KOs).

Swedish cruiserweight prospect Robin Sirwan Safar (17-0, 12 KOs) defeated former light heavyweight world champion Sergey Kovalev in his last bout, and he can win early against Roberto Silva (13-3, 7 KOs) in their clash.
The sole six rounder is at welterweight, where Cayden Griffiths (3-0, 3 KOs) can take the battle of unbeatens with Fernando Elias Ruiz Hernandez (2-0, 1 KOs) on points.
